Food gift basket is an elegant and modern addition to the dining room. The table base, located in the middle of the bottom of the table, allows comfortable seating interrupted by the table legs. Basic carpentry skills needed to construct the table, which can be colored or primed and painted dark gray or black and finished with acrylic sealer paint. Many lumberyards will cut the wood to sizes needed for the construction table if desired.
Cut four pieces of plywood to measure 24 inches square with the table saw. Connect two pieces together at the edges at right angles with wood glue. Squeeze the pieces and allow the glue to dry for two hours. Hammer in deep to secure the connection. Repeat with all the boxes to create the food gift basket for the dining table. Cut an 8-foot with 3-foot piece of plywood with the table saw for the dinner table top.
Center the table top over the base. Hammer dived through the table top to connect the upper to the pedestal. Cover deeply with wood putty, smooth it with a damp finger and let the putty dry for one hour. Sand the entire table carefully with sandpaper. Paint with primer or stain and allow drying for two hours. Apply two layers each of acrylic sealer or acrylic paint and sealer, allowing each layer to dry for two hours.
